Teo´s 2017

Variety: 100% Tempranillo.
Vineyard: 3 small plots, close to the winery, with an average age of 93 years. Limited yield to 3.600 Kg/ Ha. Few bunches of high quality per plant. Average altitude of 605 m.
Elaboration: Hand harvest. Selection of grapes, destemmed and 7 days fermenting at low capacity tank (16.000 kg). Them, continuis the maceration with its own skins during 17 days. Malolactic fermentation finishes in new French oak barrel of 225 l.
Aging: 15 months in new French oak barrel where malolactic took place.
Refinement in bottle: Minimun 10 months.
Alcohol content: 14,5ºC.
Production: 3.050 bottles.
Recommendation: Consume at a temperature of 17ºC.

When they first thought of this wine, the idea was to make and age the perfect wine, a wine which would be a tribute to their parents, Feli and Teo, founders of the winery. From the best of each crop a maximum of 8,000 kgs. of grapes of the 100% Tempranillo variety are selected. Once these bunches have reached the optimum point of ripeness, they are carefully harvested and vinification takes place in a small stainless steel tank.

Following the process of alcoholic fermentation and subsequent maceration with the aim of extracting its maximum potential, the wine is poured into new French oak barrels where a second fermentation process takes place, known as malolactic fermentation. Its ageing is completed with 18 more months in the same barrels and a minimum of 24 months of refinement in bottles.

The result is this wine which combines complexity, elegance and harmony. The idea was to make and age the perfect wine and here is the result. Now it’s up to you to taste it and give your opinion.
